- The Alcott family first lived here, but when they moved they sold it to their author friend Nathaniel Hawthorne!
- Ralph Waldo Emerson lived right near the Wayside and was considered a neighbor!
- Spooky! Henry David Thoreau made up a silly story that the previous owners haunted the house.
