Walden pond
- A large lake in Concord. It is a popular swimming place in Concord today.
- Did you know that there used to be an amusement park in Walden Pond? It burnt down in 1902.
- Walden Pond inspired the film company Walden Media
- Henry David Thoreau spent two years at the north end of the lake.

- Thoreau built a cabin away from the town to be closer to nature.
- He lived there for two years and started in the summer of 1845.
- He recorded his time in his book Walden and that made Walden Pond become famous!
- The land he lived on was owned by his friend Emerson.
- Can you believe that he built his own cabin? How exciting!
